Outer and Inner Freedom

Discipline your mind to earn inner freedom.

How did you celebrate July 4th?

Were there family and friend barbeques, festivities?
Parades or concerts?
Fireworks?

July 4th commemorates the signing of the American Declaration of Independence.

It is wonderful to reflect on the country’s  freedom and celebrate it while also reflecting on inner freedom.

   Freedom from worry

      Freedom from drama.

Freedom to choose happiness despite inevitable difficulties.

In talking with a client the other day, she kept relating all the ways her mind was controlling her life. It was as if there were a pack of wild dogs yanking her in multiple directions – this way and that way in her thoughts. She felt distressed and powerless, without any ease or comfort.

Does this scenario sometimes take place in your mind? Perhaps, you don’t feel strong enough to rein in your thoughts.

However, you are powerful enough to do so, even when you don’t think you are. As wild dogs need discipline, the mind needs to shift out of overdrive.

Step back and become the witness of all that is.

PAUSE, RELAX, BREATHE, SETTLE INSIDE

Once collected you will be in a most powerful place – the place of choice.

Take back the reins and enjoy your day.

This week’s challenge: Instead of powering through, Pause, Relax, Breathe, Settle Inside.
