How attention elevates the ordinary

The powerful practice of silent walking

We are quite taken with the notion of silent walking. Check it out here:

‘Silent walking’ is going viral. What is it and what are the benefits? (msn.com)

We have friends who walk regularly. We do as well. Do you?

Several of our friends listen to podcasts as they walk.  A couple speak on their phones. Yes, walking is a great physical exercise.

AND, it could be so much more. Nancy knows one person in particular who prays. Yes, says prayers of thanks for the day, for each little bud and bug, for being able to take deep breaths, to be able to walk, and for each thing that comes to her mind. Whether the thoughts are happy, sad, or disturbing ones, these are all transmuted into steps of gratitude.  What do you suppose her life is like?

Happy walking,

RelationSmiths, Nancy and Sharon

This week’s challenge: Take a silent walk and pay attention to your experience.
