A Thanksgiving Feast for the Soul

Giving Thanks for You

To prepare for a blessed Thanksgiving, we invite you to consider the relationships, circles and circles of connectedness, constellations of people that have touched you.

Pause for a moment and give yourself this yummy experience

Bring to your awareness relationships with people you’re grateful for and those who have nudged you to grow. Be thankful for those who modeled the person you want to be, as well as those who modeled who you don’t want to be.

“…so many people had a hand in our success.” Michelle Obama

Writing down their names, you will see all the people in your life who have made you who you are. Who are these wonderful people?

  • Some lifted you to a new place.
  • Some enhanced your greatness.
  • Some served as guardian angels.
  • Some sacrificed for you to be where you are.
  • Also, don’t forget past committed relationships, even those that went south.

Who else comes to your mind?

Nancy: Over 25 years ago I was profoundly impacted by the Dalai Lama. During an interview, he was asked if he was still angry with the Chinese. He said, “Not as much.” I knew at that moment there was hope for my pattern of anger.

Every single person has left you with a gift. Notice already a shift in your state by recalling  people from your life. Allow your heart to swell with appreciation.

Now, the Thanksgiving invitation is to let these people know their impact.

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

William Arthur Ward

Sending you abundant blessings,
RelationSmiths, Nancy and Sharon

This week’s challenge: Go a step beyond the usual Thanksgiving rituals. Let at least one person know how grateful you are. Be specific about why they are so meaningful to you. Let your gratitude bloom like a fragrant bouquet.
