“I struggled for many years with other people. I spent my teens and 20’s in anger and tears. I desperately wanted to stop hurting. I wanted others to understand me, value me. I held them responsible.”

Growing up, my life wasn’t easy. My parents’ continual fighting wreaked havoc on my siblings’ and my emotions. And so I blamed them, endlessly, for the pain that disruption and dysfunction caused.

I remember one summer afternoon, when I couldn’t take any more of the noise. Grabbing sunscreen, my transistor radio, and a blanket, I went outside to lie in the sun.

The sky was a beautiful blue, and even though I could still hear their warring, I was wrapped in the sun’s warmth and felt a sweet breeze blow through my hair. There, I could breathe.

At that moment, I felt sure: peace is possible. That was when I knew… I was onto something. Love, peace, and joy became my North Star.

From there, I reached out – and in – for more and more knowledge. I spent four years as an apprentice with an Aztec medicine man in Arizona, where the sky is larger and full of more possibility than I had ever imagined. I traveled to India to dig deeper into myself, and the universes that reside within us all.

In 2000, I joined Co-Active Coaching and Leadership programs and went on to achieve a Master Certified Coaching credential in 2006. And for years, I worked with Arbinger Institute learning and training leaders, teams, and others through mindset shifts that lead to exceptional results.

Now I’m excited to bring all that knowledge and experience to you, through executive coaching that reaches deep within, to change the world around you.

“I used to wish certain other people would change. Their decisions and actions seemed wrong to me. Guess what? Those same people wished I would change. Imagine how stuck we were!”

Before I was a coach, I was a therapist. I worked in the addiction treatment field from 1972 – 1996, first as a therapist for 5 years, then as Clinical Director, and then Vice President of Treatment Programs. I helped grow the treatment program from a 150 bed inpatient unit by adding 10 outpatient clinics in 6 counties. We also offered companies Employee Assistance contracts. So besides learning what it was like to be part of an executive team, visioning and steering an organization, I saw people referred to the EAP program who did not have an addiction problem. This included many executives who were simply burned out or overwhelmed.

I was widowed in 1992. In 1996, I left my role with Gateway Rehabilitation Center to remarry. My new husband had developed a powerful training process for executive teams. This process focused on honoring and using all of the talents on the team. I joined him in traveling all over the country delivering these programs. What was missing, it seemed to me, was something to make the insights and changes sustainable. I became a coach to continue working with executive teams to sustain the changes they made.

I loved coaching from the moment I discovered it. It wasn’t too different from the way I did therapy with executives, because I tended to use a solution-focused approach, rather than delving into the past. Some of my therapy skills – like deep listening – served me well.

I knew coaching was the right choice when I discovered over and over how hungry executives were to learn more about themselves. To explore possibilities. And to hear how much happier they were as a result of the coaching.

The coaching sessions helped me through a very difficult time AND they will be there for me the next time life brings challenges. The most important thing I learned was to be mindful that I alone am in control of my happiness. It isn’t always easy to find that place...but when I do, the struggle to get there is more than worth it.

Personally, this course has made me stronger, more aware of how I show up in the world. Professionally: WOW! I am empowered to be the best me.

Michael Williams Unreasonable Futurist, MOSAIC International, LLC

I wanted to be the best and get the best out of people. By having me focus on helping things go right, to always bringing me back to CARING, LISTENING, and SEEING people as people, I uncovered so much. I’m not only a better listener, but a better person. Thank you.

Receiving executive coaching has been a grounding force for me to be able to come back to myself on a regular basis. Our talks have taught me self-responsibility and self- awareness as a springboard for continued personal and professional development.

My thanks to Sharon and Nancy for their guidance throughout the course. Both are excellent coaches and teachers…..They did a really good job explaining concepts and helping us connect the dots. They both picked up on nuances of limiting thoughts and behaviors. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Pam Wyess Executive and Leadership Development Coach

Your course and coaching helped me and will continue to help me live the deep and lasting change that I want to offer my clients and all my relationships.

After not having a relationship with my son for 45 years (I always let him know how much more I knew than him), I just spent 3 days with my son that were delightful for both of us. Thank you, I owe this shift to your coaching.
